Rome wasn’t built in a day and neither was the road to minimalism, so why not grab the low-hanging fruit and take the first steps to decluttering your home this weekend?
Here are some ideas to get you started:
Clutter free trial
Pass through your main living space, gathering up the clutter that doesn’t belong there. This is how your house can look if it's clear of clutter. If you love how it looks more than the items you've removed then donate or throw them away. If there are some items you're not sure about getting rid of, put them in a box. Close and label the box. See what life is like without them and if you haven't opened the box in a month, let the contents go.
Remove duplicates
Especially those items that you’d already upgraded but you haven't thrown out the original yet because you were keeping it ‘just in case’ or ‘as a spare’.
Worn out? Throw it out?
Sort items of the same type into piles, for example face clothes, hand towels, bath towels and bath mats. Throw away the worn-out ones or the ones you just have too many of.
Fill a bag for charity
Fill a plastic bag of clothes and household items you won't miss and take it to the charity shop. It will feel good, I promise.
